Will Smith's 18-year-old son Jaden just got cast in the upcoming drama Life in a Year opposite Cara Delevingne. The film, which is expected to go into production later this year by Smith's company, is slated to be a heart-wrenching teen drama that could rival The Fault in Our Stars. Though they've starred in a couple movies together already (The Pursuit of Happyness, After Earth), Will decided to help Jaden in another way, besides handing him acting tips: he cut his hair.
The actor posted the process on Facebook last night, seemingly excited to chop off his son's blond dreadlocks in preparation for his first day of filming. "Getting Jaden Smith ready for the first day of filming #LifeInAYear...maybe I should've used scissors?!" he captioned the post.

Smith Sr. seemed to have a lot of fun with the chop. He even trolled his son and playfully modeled with Jaden's wad of dreads on his own head.
The final result is a clean buzzcut for Jaden. He was spotted sporting the new look in public when a fan in their neighborhood snapped a photo with the duo.
